VOCATIONAL GUIDANCE OF PUPILS OF “ZHAS SARBAZ”
CLASSES ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE PERSONALITY OF
BAUYRZHAN MOMYSHULY IN THE CLASSES OF THE OPTIONAL

Preparing the younger generation for creative work for the benefit of
society is the most important task of the comprehensive school. Its successful
implementation is associated with the constant search for the most advanced
ways of labor education and vocational guidance.
The relevance of the chosen topic is determined by the fact that at present,
in connection with a change in the socio-economic situation in the country, the
issue of professional self-determination of high school students, conditions and
factors contributing to the success of this process has become especially
important. Professional activity in a person’s life is fundamental in ensuring his
social claims, self-affirmation and self-realization. [1]
Education in the «Zhas Sarbaz» classes
provides a new quality of
education with a military-patriotic direction. The problems of career guidance in
cadet classes are solved in conjunction with other educational tasks provided for
by a single plan of educational work with pupils for the entire period of their
training. For the purposeful formation of moral-fighting qualities and patriotic
feelings among pupils at the school, all the links of the educational process are
used. The core of this work is, as you know, the formation among pupils of the
qualities of a patriot of the motherland, who is aware and capable of fulfilling
his social duty. This obliges us, teachers, to strive not only to transfer knowledge
to future officers, but also to cultivate high feelings and ideals with them, to
encourage young youths to do the same. One of such links is direct work with
pupils of the «Zhas Sarbaz» classes outside school hours. Given the specifics of
the
Zhas Sarbaz classes, English teachers, in addition to developing universal
educational activities, also pay much attention to the process of forming the
value-moral basis of students' self-determination regarding military activities.
Teachers try to form a desire, desire and ability to defend the homeland, to
defend its interests, to ensure its safety in all spheres of life. For this purpose, a
military component was introduced into the English language course, which
closely intersects with the themes (social,
cultural, and regional geographic
character) of the English language program of basic general secondary
education. Such a combination creates a sense of patriotism and pride in their
country among the cadets, helps to better realize their national as well as
professional affiliation. The content of the studied material in elective classes is

closely related to the subject of the basis of military training. When teaching
English, teachers implement a profile-oriented interdisciplinary approach, as
well as language training in a specific professional field. The possibility of
practical implementation of the knowledge gained
in the lesson is a powerful
incentive to maintain students' interest in learning the language throughout the
lesson. [2]
One of the modules of the elective program is aimed at studying the
military path of the Hero of the Soviet Union, Halyk Kaharmany Bauyrzhan
Momyshuly. The purpose of the module is to educate Kazakhstani patriotism,
further familiarization with the heroic biography of the Kazakh batyr, the
formation of moral and aesthetic education. The name of the guard of Colonel
Bauyrzhan Momyshuly is known not only in our republic, but also in the near
and far abroad. National hero
of the Great Patriotic War, famous writer, first
Kazakh military scientist - this is how we call our legendary batyr Bauyrzhan
Momyshuly. [3]
As a scientist, Bauyrzhan Momyshuly was formed in the post-war period, but
his military-theoretical heritage, as never before, is relevant today. It is the
military-theoretical legacy of Bauyrzhan Momyshuly that should become the
military-theoretical base for the military personnel
of the Republic of
Kazakhstan, not only in the field of strategy and tactics, but also in the education
of armed defenders of the Fatherland. In his military pedagogical heritage,
Momyshuly shows the formation of a young man as a citizen and warrior, the
formation of a military character in him, conveys his inner world and intellectual
appearance, shows the embodiment of the friendship of peoples.
In the lessons on this module, students learn about B. Momyshuly’s
biography, spiritual covenants and military exploits, perform thematic
translations of his aphorisms, prepare presentations
and defend projects in
English. Also this year, a big event is planned among the pupils of the «Zhas
Sarbaz» classes: a quiz contest “Following the tracks of the military path of
Bauyrzhan Momyshuly”. The school has a Hall of Military Glory, where
students conduct excursions in English for students, guests. They introduce the
heroes of Kazakhstan of the Great Patriotic WarThe knowledge of the military
exploits of the brave sons of his people like Bauyrzhan Momyshuly contributes
to the understanding and development of students of such moral categories as
duty, honor, conscience, a sense of Kazakhstani patriotism. In conclusion, I want
to note that the main point of all military-patriotic work in the «Zhas Sarbaz»
classes is that, following the precepts of Bauyrzhan Momyshuly, to help
students determine their place in improving the defense power of
the Republic
of Kazakhstan, in order to educate everyone in their readiness to stand up with
arms in hands to defend the homeland. Summing up, I can say that the
implementation of the military component in the English lessons allows us to
develop not only the cadet's communication skills, but also their professional
interests.
