Currently, diseases of the oral mucosa remain an urgent problem in dentistry [1, p. 43; 2, p. 10]. One of them is leukoplakia, the symptoms of which are manifested in the form of lesions of the mucous membrane and keratinization of the epithelium [3, p. 29]. Most often, these manifestations remain unnoticed, since they do not cause discomfort [4, p. 30]. This becomes the reason for the further development of the disease and deterioration of the patient's condition [5, p. 34]. Without timely treatment, leukoplakia can be transformed into cancer, so this disease should be diagnosed at an early stage [6, p. 30]. Various methods of treating leukoplakia have been developed, but the most effective way to combat it is to prevent it. Keywords: oral diseases, leukoplakia, oral mucosa, prevention.
