Summary. In order to increase the gross production of milk and increase the number of breeding cattle in the farms of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) since 2013 from the Altai Territory began to import heifers of Red Steppe breed. Getting into new climatic and economic conditions, the body of imported cattle undergoes deep physiological and biochemical changes, the process of its adaptation. The morphological and biochemical composition of Red Steppe breed blood as an indicator of its adaptation in Central Yakutia has been studied. The level and type of feeding of dairy herd, productivity, reproductive traits, livability of livestock have been taken into account. The morphological and biochemical composition of the blood was studied in April 2017, when the region is widely observed depletion of animal summer stock of nutrients and more impressed adaptive reaction of animals to specific conditions (technology) of their breeding. The experiment has been carried out under the conditions of livestock complex MUE "Chuya" Megino-Kangalassky ulus of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). It has been noted that cows of Red Steppe breed have closer indicators of the content of uniform elements of blood to Kholmogorsky cattle breed of local selection than the imported livestock of the same breed. In the blood of the imported Red Steppe livestock has been established that the indicators of thrombocytes and thrombocrit were decreased from the norm. Indicators of serum enzyme activity (ALAT, ASAT) are somewhat underestimated from the physiological norm. In the studied group of cows a low glucose content has been established, which is certainly caused by a deficiency of sugar in the ration (64.8% of the norm). It has been established above-normal blood levels of cholesterol, which presumably reflects abnormal liver function. Apparently by the morphological and biochemical picture of the blood, in the harsh conditions of the Far North the adaptation of cows of Red Steppe breed is very difficult, which of course is determined by local negative factors (insufficient feeding, violation of the technology of maintenance and operation of livestock).
