Сравнительная характеристика письменностей Тикамули и Джентича для языка сунувар

As Nepal and Russia strengthen their connections, there may be a need to publish new textbooks and dictionaries. Sunuwar is one of Nepal’s languages. Several studies have observed phonetics, grammar and sentence structure of Sunuwar, however, there is still no consensus on a universal writing system, which also should be considered when compiling said materials in Russian. The aim of this study is to compare two writing systems created specifically for Sunuwar language, Tikamuli and Jenticha, based on a variety of criteria: their ability to accurately represent Sunuwar phonetics, easiness in reading, comprehension and writing by non-native speakers. A survey among students was conducted for practical purposes. It was determined that, according to the aforementioned criteria, Jenticha is a more suitable writing system for this language.
