The thief, his mother, and $2 billion
Stephane Breitweiser, 33, from Alsace, in France, is the greatest art thief in Europe. For six years, while he was working as a lorry driver, he stole 239 paintings from museums in France, Austria, and Denmark. He went into the museums just as they were closing and hid the paintings under his coat. Nobody looked at him because he was wearing a security guard's uniform. Back in his apartment, where he was living his with mother, he filled his bedroom with priceless works of art. His mother, Mireille, 53, thougt all the paintings were copies. One day while they were having supper, the police arrived, and they took Stephene to the police station.
