There were many other glorious pages in momyshula's military biography: one
simple enumeration would take a long time. Taking into account Momyshuly's
considerable military achievements,
his other commander, Colonel I. I.
Serebryakov, in August of the 42nd presents Bauyrzhan for the title of Hero of
the Soviet Union.
It is also unknown what happened to this award list. The subsequent
combat actions of our countryman were not worthily noted. Only three battle
orders were awarded to Momyshuly-the red banner, the Patriotic war I degree
and the red Star...
There is a reasonable question: why at the time were not appreciated, as
they deserve, the military exploits of Momyshuly? Perhaps it was the turmoil
and confusion of wartime. But why on it? His personality was already quite
colorful and noticeable, and his name was loud. Maybe, after all,
a negative
attitude of someone in power was manifested in relation to him, and more than
once? This seems more likely because Bauyrzhan Momyshuly had a firm and
direct character, if not straightforward. He always said what he thought to
everyone, never adjusted to anyone. Being demanding of himself, he demanded
it of others. Having a keen sense of justice, was for others "inconvenient".
Because of this, trouble often accompanied him, and all sorts of legends around
his name has developed a lot.
The fact that our famous countryman had enough detractors for these reasons,
can be traced to his future fate. After the war, B. Momyshuly graduated from the
Military Academy of the General staff of the Soviet Army. He graduated
successfully: here he later engaged in military-pedagogical activities.
Knowledgeable people say that his ideas in the field of tactics were
characterized by courage and novelty. But he remained a Colonel, and in 1956
was retired. He was only 46 years old.
Having soberly weighed and
estimated the opportunities, a measure of
responsibility as the writer and the citizen, B. Momyshuly took up a pen. He
wrote about what he saw and experienced at the front, which shocked and
remained in his memory forever. Helped him in writing the truth about the war
and those thirty-eight notebooks-diaries that he kept at the front, led in all
conditions: on the March, in the trenches, in the snow and rain, and even in the
environment. Huge love for ordinary soldiers, the Homeland is permeated by his
book "Behind us Moscow", dedicated to the combat exploits of the guards
Panfilov division (published in 1958).
The writer's gift of B. Momyshuly was also noted by the corypheus of
Russian literature Mukhtar Auezov: "I am very glad that not only your heroism
on the battlefield, but also your literary work is appreciated. And his first book,
"the Story of one night," Momyshuly declared himself as a talented writer." The
second - "Our family", written by him during
his studies at the Academy,
immediately became popular. In it, the writer enthusiastically and truthfully told
about his people, their history, customs, people. In 1976, this book received the
state prize of the Kazakh SSR.

Momyshuly lusciously and passionately, deeply and perfectly spoke and
wrote in two languages. He understood it this way: the native language connects
with the native, the Russian language brings together with another. He followed
the principle: "Knowing one language is one person. One who knows two
languages is worth two worthy people."
The winged words that come from his pen are admired for their precision
and depth, beauty and humanity. His well-aimed statements are striking in their
versatility and diversity. For example: "for the Honor. do not sell bread",
"National feeling-the most worthy of feelings", "to Love your people does not
mean to hate another", "for the Motherland, entering the fire - you will not
burn", "a tongue-Less creature is called a beast. A people whose language is
poor, primitive, considered savage, ignorant, barbarous,
rude and uncultured
people", " Justice hastens slowly, but comes inevitably."
Momyshuly's words remained on paper for us, and he himself went
through the earthly path, never bending before those in power, looking straight,
holding himself proudly, suffering from the directness of his temper.
The name of Bauyrzhan Momyshuly was and remains popular among the
people. He is known and loved and thanks to the books of A. Krivitsky "I Will
never forget", D. Onegin "on the distant approaches", M. Gabdullin "My front-
line friends", A. Nurshaikhov "Truth and legend", his own - "Behind us
Moscow", the eponymous feature film, books of his son Bakhytzhan, who
worthily continues the work of his father.
Despite the fact that B. Momyshuly became a nationally recognized Hero
in 1941, he was officially awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union with a
great delay, posthumously, in 1990, in the year of the 80th
anniversary of his
birth. The truth prevailed. Bauyrzhan Momyshuly himself said:"...My judges are
time and people."
Today, schools and military boarding schools bear his name, streets of
cities of Kazakhstan are named after him, they write a lot about him, they say,
they read. Time has put everything in its place, and the people have not
forgotten it, the glory of it only increases with the years.
