Elective course on “terminology of inorganic chemistry in the English language”
Concept note
Multilingualism is the basis of formation of the polycultural personality. Today in education the main goal is the development of school functionally literate, patriotic, responsible, multilingual and creative students who think critically.
The problem of English is Central to integration of Kazakhstan into the world educational space on an international level. Changes in science are raising new requirements in basic education and quality education of our young generation. For this reason, in the 8th and 9th grades are introduced optional courses at the basic concepts of the English language in chemistry classes.
For greater interdisciplinary communication in the direction of chemistry education in two languages, the course «Terminology of inorganic chemistry in the English language» was at the basis of the order №115 accepted 2013 April 3, Minister of education and science of Kazakhstan, registered by Ministry of Justice on 10 April 2013 №8424, approved by the Republic of Kazakhstan government resolution in 2012 August 23, №1080 of secondary education (primary, basic secondary, General secondary education) on the basis of state educational standards.
This program is a course taken on the basis of program 9th grade the study of the main theme concepts and terms in English and in a deep learning algorithm for solving digital tasks. The main importance is not only the mastery of terminology in the English language, but also the development of skills solutions for digital tasks in different ways in the in-depth mastery of the theoretical inorganic chemistry.In creating the content of the programme it was considered in the basic knowledge in chemistry and English in the 8th grade and is dedicated to the further expansion and deepening on the different topics of 9th grade.
This program of the lyceum hour was considered in 29.08.2016 by рrotocol №1 and presented at the meeting №1 of the city expert committee.
