The battle of Parwan in arab-persian sources
Abstract
The article analyzes the description of the battle of Parwan between the 
Mongol corps and the army of Jalal ad-Din Mankburny. This battle is one 
of the largest military clashes of the Mongol-Khorezm war of 1219-1221 
and the first defeat of the army of Chinghiz-khan. In this article, I would like 
to first of all pay attention to the specifics of how the Arab-Persian authors 
describe this battle, whether there are contradictions in their stories and 
what they see as the reason for the victory of the Khorezm army. We will also 
indicate the consequences of this battle, both for the Khorezmshah Jalal 
al-Din Mankburna and his army, and for the course of the entire Mongol 
military campaign against Khorezm. We hope that this work will attract 
the attention of researchers, both to the battle itself, and in General to the 
Mongol military campaigns under Chinghiz-khan, as well as the history of 
Khorezm.
