| Conclusion
The results of the data obtained in the current study have shown that each ELT coursebook series includes the examples of the 4Cs of 21st century skills (commu- nication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity) in their tasks and activities. Some of the subskills of these 4Cs were found to be present in every unit while some of them were missing in the coursebook. Present- ing how and to what extent the 4Cs were dealt with in ELT coursebooks, this study also addresses the signifi- cance of further research on the 21st century skills in ELT program and coursebooks in order to contribute to the studies done in the field. “The work was carried out with the financial support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the framework of the scientific project AR09261132“.
