The quadrangle of the formulas is represented by the two levels: the upper (2 parts of the
quadrangle) and the lower (2 parts of the quadrangle), in each of which is placed, in accordance
with the formula, the physical quantity (App. 1).
For example, the quadrangle to the topic "Resistance of the conductor"
(fig. 2):
Figure 2 - Resistance of the conductor
“The House of formulas”. It is used in cases where the composition of the formula
includes more than four physical quantities.
“The house of formulas” is represented by the two levels: the upper (1 part of the house)
and the lower (3 parts of the house and more), in each of which the physical quantity is placed, in
accordance with the formula (App. 1).
For example, the house of formulas for the "Joule-Lenz Law" (Fig. 3):
Figure 3 - Joule-Lenz Law
In the lesson on the topic “Work and current power. The Joule – Lenz law ” I offer
students a practice-oriented task, the solution of which is based on the use of this type of
mnemonics:“ Calculate the efficiency of the Atlant electric kettle for heating water from room
temperature to boiling”.
The Rectangle of the formulas.
The rectangle of the formulas is represented by the two levels: the upper (more than two
parts of the rectangle) and the lower (more than two parts of the rectangle), each of which
contains, in accordance with the formula, a physical quantity (App. 1).
For example, the rectangle of formulas for the "Law of Coulomb" (Fig. 4):
Figure 4 - Coulomb Law
Constructor of formulas.
The constructor of formulas is useful for students who have problems in deriving the final
formula for solving the problem (the student combines physical quantities, moving on levels
from given physical quantities to the desired one)
