SCIENTIFIC AND METHODOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS OF TEACHING PROFESSIONALLY
ORIENTED FOREIGN LANGUAGE AT LAW HIGH SCHOOLS
The article considers scientific-methodical bases of teaching the students in the legal institution of higher edu-
cation in the field-specificprofessionally oriented foreign language.There are givensome modern methods of foreign
language teaching, its ability to issue sequential formation and development of future specialists in the field of
jurisprudence. Examining the effectiveness of intensive training, incorporating not only learning a foreign language
as means of communication and transferring students socially and professionally relevant information, but also the
formation of multilingual identity incorporating the values of native and foreign cultures and ready for intercultural
communication.

Being aware of the fact that a foreign language becomes a kind of key for professional success of
a modern specialist reinforces the importance of the linguistic component of higher education at tech-
nical universities and it is obvious that the usual vision of languageteaching is completely outdated
at technical university as an integral part of the educational paradigmat high schools.
Foreign language is a universal tool of professional life that is whythe problem of itsdevelopment and
formation of professional competence of students becomes more and more urgent while learning a foreign
language at the law school. Specialist’s high level of professional competence is achieved by the presence
of his professional skills acquired during training at the University. Foreign language skills are implement-
ed successfully as part of communicative competence only if they coincidewith the professional skills,
specific qualifications of the specialists of this profile and fixed by State educational standard of higher pro-
fessional education. Therefore, professionally - communicative-oriented basis of foreign language is rea-
sonably and methodologically justifiedsupposing it teachesthe students for professionally oriented foreign
language communication. In this regard, professionally-oriented approach in teaching foreign language is
acquiringa particular actuality at law school providing formation of the students ‘ ability for communica-
tion in foreign languages of the specific professional, scientific, business areas and situations, taking into
account peculiarities of their professional thinking. Nowadays, teachingprofessionally oriented foreign
language is recognizedas a priority in the renewal of education.
State educational standard of higher professional education requires the consideration of vocational
specificity while learning foreign language and its focusing on the future professional activity of the grad-
uates. Professionally-oriented approach in teaching foreign languages at non-linguistic universities is par-
ticularly actual andit provides formation of the students ‘ ability for communication in foreign languages in
specific professional, scientific, business areas and situations, taking into account the peculiarities of their
professional thinking in the organization of motivational-incentive and approximately-research activities.
Professionally orientedteachingis based on the needs of the students learning a foreign language, dic-
tated by the peculiarities of their future profession or specialty. It involves the combination of master-
ing professionally oriented foreign language with the development of personal qualities of the students,
knowledge of the culture of the country of the target language and the acquisition of special skills based on
professional and linguistic knowledge [1].
