agent of which is a quarantine object for Kazakhstan. The disease is caused by the bacterium Erwinia
amylovora (Burrill) Winslow et al. Bacterial fire blight mainly affects apple (Malus domestica) and
pear (Pyrus communis). The disease affects all organs of the apple tree: flowers, blossoming buds,
fruits, leaves, shoots, branches of various orders, and trunk bark. To avoid further spread and
development of fire blight on the territory of Kazakhstan, it is very important to grow varieties of fruit
trees resistant to fire blight. The article presents the results of identifying the causative agent of fire
blight on the examined apple varieties in the main industrial zone of horticulture, the prevalence of the
disease and the varieties most susceptible to damage are established. As a result of bacteriological
analysis of the selected samples, 13 bacterial isolates were isolated from varieties: Aport, Voskhod,
Sinap Almaty, Maksat, Golden Delicious, Candy, Pinova, Pink Lady, Idored, Gala, Delzhons, Wilton
Star, Red Topaz, which, according to morphological and cultural signs were similar to those of
Erwinia amylovora, the causative agent of fire blight. Molecular identification of the pathogen E.
amylovora by PCR showed that out of 8 samples of bacterial cultures, three cultures (cultivars Aport,
Sinap Almatinsky, Pinova) were identified as phytopathogenic bacteria Erwinia amylovora.
