THE EXPERIENCE IN THE APPLICATION OF FAMILY-CENTERED
APPROACH IN WORKING WITH EARLY-AGED CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
Abstract
Now days rending assistance for children with special needs has based on social model with fundamental
concept of family-centered approach. According to this concept support for the child and the family is
expected that family is perceived by specialists as most important development resource, and required them
to cooperate with parents. One of the type of partnership cooperation is co-preparation of educational
programs for the children which implement at home by parents based on parent’s requests and needs
according to family context and with condition that program will be realized by family and making is entered
into habitual life as much as possible.
The article is described experience of parthnership cooperation of specialists and families of children
early and preschool age with mental and motors disorders. Set out the sequence of co-working with parents
to make a development program for home condition and effectiveness of these programs.
