THE SUBJECTIVE CONTENT OF THE OBJECT OF PEDAGOGICAL IMPACT IN AMERICAN SYSTEM OF EDUCATION

Modern education in Ukraine remains in the captivity of pedagogical tradition of the totalitarian state, determining the process of teaching as “subject-object” relations. Mechanical usage of the methods of teaching, successfully working in the American system of education, does not solve this problem. Mastering the most essential components of democratic education can be carried out only in the format of “subject-subject” relations, because they are essence of American philosophy of education.

ON A WAY TO THE METASCHOOL: PHILOSOPHICAL BASIC AND GENERAL EDUCATIONAL REALITY IN UKRAINE AND THE USA

American scientist George Lenard more than 10 years ago had come to the conclusion: “School in its present state has exhausted itself. Any attempts to improve it and as a matter of fact to leave the present system of education in not changed style, can only postpone its agonal spasms, enlarging financial and social expenses… We have to change our educational goal: it is necessary not to modernize an existing school, but to build something out of it – let us call it metaschool”. Since that time American teachers made serious steps on the way to the practical realization of the idea of the metaschool, which was born in the thought of the philosophers-constructivist and the philosophers-pragmatic. Some transformation of traditional educational environment and changing of the pedagogical thinking style has occurred in Ukraine too. The article is devoted to the analysis of these processes.
