EPIDEMIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF HOSPITAL-ACQUIRED INFECTIONS IN
THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN
Abstract: The urgency of the problem of hospital-acquired infections (HAI) is determined by their wide
distribution in medical institutions of various profiles and the significant damage caused by these diseases to the
health of the population. HAI not only determines the additional morbidity, but also increases the duration of
treatment, leads to an increase in hospitalization costs, causes long-term physical and neurological complications,
developmental disorders, often lead to the death of patients.
