The article presents an analysis of modern approaches to the education and upbringing of children with
autism spectrum disorders. A theoretical and experimental analysis of the problem of the formation of life
competencies in these children is given on the example of their awareness of themselves as representatives of
their gender. One of the characteristics of the inner world of an autistic child is an unnatural imagination.
Their main characteristic is a deviation from sincerity, incomplete communication with the environment.The
