DEVELOPMENT OF THE IMAGE OF "I" IN PRIMARY
SCHOOL CHILDREN WITH MENTAL RETARDATION
Abstract
The development of such an important component of self-consciousness as the image of "I" is a complex,
multi-level process. In the course of personality development, qualitatively new types of self-image appear,
the development of which is facilitated by the fact that at each age stage the child occupies different places in
the system of social relations with the resulting certain requirements for his behavior, a known system of
norms and rules of behavior, certain social expectations.
The paper provides recommendations for the development of all components of the image of "I", the
analysis of foreign and domestic psychological and pedagogical literature, reveals the features of the
development of the image of" I " of younger students.
