CRITERIA AND METHODS FOR ASSESSING
PERSONAL READINESS FOR PROFESSIONAL
ACTIVITY OF STUDENTS OF SPORTS UNIVERSITIES

The article is devoted to the analysis of criteria and methods for
assessing personal readiness for professional activity of students
of sports universities. It is shown that the personal readiness for
professional activity of students of sports universities is determined
by the content of the process of professional training of a future
specialist in the field of physical culture and sports activities. The
essence of the concept of “personal readiness for professional ac-
tivity” of students of sports universities is revealed. It is shown that
the personal readiness of students of sports universities for profes-
sional activity is an integral subject- personal education that has a
multicomponent structure. Based on the analysis of the literature,
its criteria and indicators are identified, which include professionally-
oriented personally significant motives and attitudes to the chosen
profession, value attitude to health and a healthy lifestyle, to oneself
as a future professional, to the process of obtaining professional ed-
ucation, professional knowledge, skills and abilities of physical cul-
ture, sports and pedagogical activities, self-control, management,
stability and reflection of educational and professional activities. The
methods of assessing the personal readiness for professional activi-
ty of students of sports universities are diverse and variable. Survey
and diagnostic methods, including observation, survey, interview, as
well as standardized psychological methods, the method of expert
evaluation of educational projects, diaries of self-observation of per-
sonal development in the process of studying at sports universities,
have shown their effectiveness.
