THE SPECIFICS OF DISTANCE LEARNING IN FOREIGN
LANGUAGES

The article deals with the problems of distance learning, as well as
the specifics of the distance course «Foreign language». The use of
technical means of teaching is combined with a fundamental change
in the educational model. E-learning involves changing the role of
actors. This necessarily means a revision of the role of the teacher
and the student. The transition from the introduction of full-time to
the development of e-learning requires cultural, organizational and,
of course, pedagogical changes. To overcome the isolation of the
student, distance learning requires a radical transformation of teach-
ing methods and means. Distance learning is radically changing the
methods of teaching and learning methods at the university. This
changes the roles of teachers and students and encourages them to
rethink the pedagogical approach and the practical side of learning.
The article presents a brief overview of Internet resources to help
a foreign language teacher in a non-linguistic university, as well as
to help students for independent study.
