CHINA Feng Yudi Herzen State Pedagogical University Ballet is one of the classical European dances. In the context of the development of international cultural and pedagogical exchanges, the ballet school in China has gone from borrowing the basic the- oretical and methodological principles of teaching ballet to creating its own system of ballet pedagogy. The article studied the process of adaptation of the world pedagogical practice of ballet choreogra- phy in China, identified innovations in ballet pedagogy in China. The research methodology is based on observing the pedagogical pro- cess in ballet schools and conducting interviews with Chinese ballet teachers. The empirical basis of the study was the specialized cho- reographic classes of the Wang Han Dance School, the Xuzhou Art Space Ballet School, and the Xuzhou Dance School (Xu Zhou City, Jiangsu Province). As a result of the study, the author concludes that at the present stage, a feature of teaching children ballet in China is the integration of European methods and national Chinese choreography.
